Communication lost, blinking red light with Agilent 1260 Infinity DAD - WKB221359

SYMPTOMS

• Lost communication 
• Blinking red light 
• HPLC system modules unavailable ("grayed out") in Empower
• Module shows offline in Run Samples control panel
• Instrument failure

ENVIRONMENT

• Agilent 1260 Infinity
• Agilent LC
• G4212B 1260 DAD
• Agilent ELS
• Empower 3

CAUSE

• LAN cable connected incorrectly
• Computer unresponsive

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Power-down all Agilent HPLC components.
2. Reboot the computer.
3. Connect directly to LAC/E to "Start Windows normally".
4. Power-up all Agilent LC components.
5. Check system status. If communication is not restored, try steps 6 through 9.
6. Remove the established chromatographic system in Configuration Manager.
7. Click the "Tools" tab and configure new system through "Agilent PreConfiguration".
8. Re-create the chromatographic system in Configuration Manager.
9. Verify connection to the re-configured chromatographic system.
