Alliance system exhibits poor peak reproducibility - WKB220278

SYMPTOMS

• Poor peak area and height reproducibility
• Lower than normal system back pressure
• Leakage at sample syringe connection

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC System
• 2695 Separations Module

CAUSE

Loose sample syringe. If not screwed in tightly, the Alliance sample syringe can loosen over time due to vibrations from multiple injection cycles.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Hand-tighten the sample syringe firmly. 
2. Purge the injector.
3. Perform the compression test to confirm that there are no leaks.
