Error: Bubble found on compression on my 2695 - WKB2141

Article number: 2141

SYMPTOMS

  • Bouncing or fluctuating pressure
  • Little to no flow observed during and after priming

ENVIRONMENT

  • Alliance HPLC System
  • 2695 Separations Module
  • 2795 Separations Module

CAUSE

Switching from a buffered mobile phase using a higher composition of organic than the original buffer causes the check valve to stick.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Use a higher aqueous wash.
  2. Sonicate check valves. To avoid solvent leakage, first close the GPV. From the main screen, select Diagnostics > Other Tests > Turn Off GPV.
  3. Sonicate check valves in water for 15 minutes.
  4. Sonicate in methanol or acetonitrile for an additional 15 minutes.
  5. Reinstall check valves.
  6. Reset GPV and select OK.
  7. Prime unit at 7.5 ml for 3-5 minutes.
  8. Monitor flow and pressure. If resolved, continue with analysis.
