Needle wash solution doesn't come out on e2695 because of excessive resistance in the needle wash tubing - WKB199845

SYMPTOMS

• The needle wash solution is not flowing out from the yellow waste line for the needle wash solution
• There is "wind" blowing from the waste line

ENVIRONMENT

• e2695 Separations Module

CAUSE

Because the needle wash solution tubing was too long, it was coiled for three turns and tied with tape, resulting in too much resistance for the pump to successfully deliver the needle wash solution into the system.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Straighten the tubing for needle wash solution (no coils).
2. Immerse the tubing for needle wash solution in acetonitrile and perform needle wash until liquid flows out of the waste line.
3. Immerse the tubing for needle wash solution in the solution required for the experiment, and perform needle wash three times to prepare the instrument for use.
