ACQUITY FTN fails needle seal readiness test, normal operating pressure decreases - WKB197663

SYMPTOMS

• FTN fails needle seal readiness test with -2000 psi at 0.5 mL/min
• Needle seal characterization passes 
• There is a ~2000-psi drop in normal operating pressure of column 
• QSM/BSM passes dynamic leak test
• Low sensitivity may be observed if LC-MS tests are run

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle PLUS (SM-FTN PLUS)

CAUSE

A leak at the needle seal

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace the needle and needle seal (700005215). 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Characterize needle seal and perform and pass the needle seal readiness and dynamic leak tests at FTN port 6, including needle and seal.
