"Pump H/W overpressure" error with ACQUITY UPLC BSM - WKB193719

SYMPTOMS

• "Pump H/W overpressure error" when starting flow
• Removing column, back pressure is as expected for flow rate
• Installing a new column lowers back pressure and error does not appear, but back pressure is still very high
• Upon injection, overpressure error
• Inject valve and needle were replaced
• Solvents are old

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC BSM

CAUSE

Old solvents with buffers are causing back pressure issue.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace old solvents with fresh solvents.
