Communication Error for ACQUITY PDA only - WKB1916

SYMPTOMS

• ACQUITY console communication error for the PDA
• PDA showing two green LEDs

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 SR2 HF 1
• Driver Pack 4

CAUSE

• Corrupted PDA Driver

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Ping to the IP address, reply.
2. Find PDA serial number using Loader executable.
3. Uninstall PDA driver. Go to Windows Start > All Programs > Empower Folder > Remove Instrument Component Software.
4. Power-off ACQUITY stack.
5. Restart the PC.
6. Reinstall Waters Driver Pack 4, specifically PDA 1.60.
7. Restart the PC.
8. Wait for the OS to fully start.
9. Power-on ACQUITY stack, waiting 45 seconds between each component, and starting with the instrument with the hub built-in.
10. Confirm proper communication.
