Sample Organizer air pump time-out - WKB17406

SYMPTOMS

• When the Sample Organizer is power cycled, the pressure goes up to optimal level, but within a minute it drops to 0 psi
  • Sample Organizer X and Y mechanism is unable to complete initialization
• The air compressor compensates for loss of pressure by turning off and on constantly
  • Pinching the pneumatic tube/line at the outlet of the hold tank shows same issue
  • Snoop liquid leak detector identifies an air leak at the check valve

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Organizer

CAUSE

Check valve failed to hold 100+ psi pressure in the tank.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace the check valve on the pneumatics panel.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If the check valve fails to solve the problem. The air panel  would be the next likely candidate as they can leak in the solenoid manifold not available as a spare.
