ACQUITY PDA lamp turns off when setting up method or starting sample set in Empower Run Samples or MassLynx Sample List - WKB16490

SYMPTOMS
- Lamp turns off in Empower Run Samples or MassLynx Sample List
- Error message "Inlet method no data was acquired on detector" and the chromatogram is empty
- Issue occurs only the first time an instrument method is set up or the first sample set/list is set up or started
- As the run is started, the console shows the PDA/TUV lamp is off
- Occurs outside of Empower with Stand Alone Console
- If leaving and reentering Run Samples is required, the behavior occurs again

CAUSE
Suspect corruption in firmware version 1.70
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Downgrade the ACQUITY PDA or ACQUITY TUV firmware to version 1.65 (or lower).
- Note: See the release notes for the current version of instrument control to ensure that the correct firmware version is loaded on instrument device.
Workaround:
- Turn the PDA/TUV lamp back ON in the console software.
- Set up and/or start the sample set in the same Run Samples window. On the second attempt, it will not turn the PDA lamp off. Continue operation and runtime as expected.
