How to enable the recycle function on a 2414 RID for Empower control - WKB16438

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Enable the recycle solvent feature for control by Empower software.

ENVIRONMENT

• 2414 Refractive Index Detector
• Empower 3
• 2695 Separations Module
• Alliance HPLC System

PROCEDURE

1. Connect the I/O cables to the back of the 2414 in the following configuration:
   • 
2. Connect the I/O cable to the back of the Alliance in the following configuration:
   • 
3. Set the recycle function to "LOW" on the 2414 front panel:
   • 
4. Configure the Alliance instrument method in Empower to include an event for desired recycle time using Switch 1 (times in picture are for reference only):
