System overpressure and visible leak on mixer inlet with ACQUITY UPLC I-Class or M Class BSM - WKB16216

SYMPTOMS
- Pressure is higher than expected, even on a new column
- System overpressures at low flow rates (<0.5 mL/min)
- Pressure trace in ACQUITY console is showing ca. 6000 psi difference between Accumulator and Primary pump, resulting in overpressure on Accumulator pump.
- Retention time shifts
- Visible leak on mixer inlet
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY UPLC
- ACQUITY UPLC I-Class

CAUSE
Damaged or over-tightened tubing from the vent valve to the mixer
Clogged filter inside the mixer
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Replace the damaged tubing (link to ACQUITY UPLC BSM; link to ACQUITY UPLC I-Class BSM, link to ACQUITY UPLC M-Class BSM).
- Replace the mixer (link to ACQUITY UPLC BSM; link to ACQUITY UPLC I-Class BSM, link to ACQUITY UPLC M-Class BSM).
- Verify that the issue is resolved and that the system functions as expected.
