Error "MUX ADC default register error" with 2489 - WKB12962

SYMPTOMS

• “MUX ADC default register error” encountered when 2489 Detector was powered-up 

ENVIRONMENT

• Waters 2489 Detector

CAUSE

The MUX ADC error is usually a false warning that occurs when an Analog to Digital converter on the instrument initializes to a bad state.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Power cycle the 2489 to clear the error.
2. DP 2017 R1 should fix this error. A new firmware version was released to resolve this issue.
3. Also possibility of faulty personality PCB

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The error can be temporary removed when calibration is performed but after restarting the error re appears. The battery was changed but the error persisted.
