System pressure 2000 PSI higher than expected on ACQUITY UPLC I-Class with PFC Kit installed - WKB124304

SYMPTOMS

• System pressure 2000 PSI above expected pressure
• System pressure with no column connected is 6800 PSI
• Loosening fitting at port #5 on the injection valve does not relieve the pressure
• Loosening fitting at the inlet of the PFC isolator column relieves the pressure

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
• KIT, ANALYSIS, PERFLUORINATED COMPOUNDS (PFC)

CAUSE

The PFC isolator column is blocked causing excessive back pressure

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the PFC Kit isolator column, p/n = 700005341
