SM-FTN-R error: Column active preheater is not supported with current configuration - WKB120635

SYMPTOMS

• Error seen in ACQUITY console and sample manager control panel: "Sample Manager FTN-R: Column active preheater is not supported with current hardware configuration"
• Sample set stops
• Unable to resolve by resetting unit in console
• All instruments pass initialization

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY Arc
• ACQUITY Arc Sample Manager FTN-R
• ACQUITY UPLC Column Manager CM-30S
• MassLynx 4.1
• Driver Pack 2019 Release 2 (DP2019R2)

CAUSE

Instrument method/console configured with active preheater "enabled", but the CM-30S is a passive heater and does not support an active preheater.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close out of the SW and console.
2. Restart everything and wait for all units to finish initialization.
3. Configure the Active Preheater to "Disable" in the sample manager console and instrument method.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

An alternative is to set the Preheaters to "Use console configuration" in the instrument method.
