ACQUITY UPLC I-Class cannot maintain pressure - WKB118012

SYMPTOMS

• Severe variation in pressure trace while trying to equilibrate a method
• Failure to compress the accumulator for a dynamic leak test

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class BSM

CAUSE

Solvent lines are not submerged in the solvent.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Adjust tubing in the solvent bottle so that it is submerged in the solvent.
2. Prime system thoroughly.
3. Run leak test to ensure functionality.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If the solvent bottle is empty or has been allowed to run dry, remake the solvent and prime the system thoroughly.
