SYMPTOMS

• Pressure reading is 0 when pump is running
• loss of prime

ENVIRONMENT

• 1515 Isocratic HPLC Pump
• 1525 Binary HPLC Pump
• 2525/2545 Binary Gradient Module
• 2535/2545/2555 Quaternary Gradient Module

CAUSE

Pump is not primed, and air bubbles are in the check valves.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Turn the vent valve to the right to waste.
2. Set the flow rate to 5 mL/min.
3. Use a syringe to pull solvent through the prime valve.
4. Ensure that solvent flows consistently out of the waste line.
