Sample Manager-FTN "string" error message in console software - WKB1154

SYMPTOMS

• The instrument has triggered a "string" error message in console and cannot be operated until the message is cleared. The message is not recorded in the log files. The issue occurs on initialization.

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY H-Class Sample Manager-FTN (SM-FTN)

CAUSE

"String" errors are failed commands between the Instrument Control Software and the ACQUITY module. The instrument is losing communications due to failure of the ACQUITY server processes, which results in the console displaying an erroneous "string" message.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Kaspersky Antivirus creates communication issues. Disable it.
