SYMPTOMS

• On setting sample list, Sample Organizer error "Organizer Z Drive lost steps during plate transfer" occurs

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Organizer

CAUSE

The plate is not installed correctly on the sample organizer shelf or the lower sensor has become misaligned and is not seeing the shelves/plates properly

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Stop the batch.
2. Power-off the organizer.
3. Remove the plate.
4. Check the positioning of the sensor, adjust if necessary
5. Power-on the sample organizer.
6. Reset the sample organizer / sample manager in the console.
7. Install the plate.
8. Select Scan and store the shelf layout from the sample organizer console drop-down menu (Configure > Scan and store shelf layout).
9. Start the sample list and confirm plate transfer.
