ACQUITY QDa does not switch to Operate using Empower 3 - WKB102311

SYMPTOMS

  • QDa stays in idle mode and does not switch to Operate from the ACQUITY console
  • No error messages 
  • All connections and requirements look good

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector
  • ACQUITY H-Class
  • Empower 3 Enterprise
  • Windows 10

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Close out of Empower.
  2. Shut down the LAC/E or PC.
  3. Power-off the QDa and all other ACQUITY modules.
  4. Power-on the computer.
  5. Power-on the modules, starting with the SM-FTN (sample manager).
  6. Wait for all modules to initialize. 
  7. Launch Empower and log in.
