2695 Separations Module: Causes of the check valve deterioration and countermeasures - WKB100206

Article number: 100206

ENVIRONMENT

  • 2695 Separations Module

ANSWER

Main causes of check valve deterioration
- Abrasion due to salt precipitation from the mobile phase
- Abrasion due to fine particles contained in the mobile phase
- Use of solvents not recommended for the instrument
- Deterioration due to excessive drying of the check valve (when not used for a long period of time)
- Deterioration due to generation of bacteria such as when left in water for a long time

■ Countermeasures against the above
- After washing with a salt-free water-rich solution (10% methanol, etc.), replace with 100% organic solvent if not used for a long time
- Mobile phase filtration
- When using 100% water, replace the bottle every day.
- If 100% organic solvent bottle is used for a long time, dust may get into the bottle so replace the bottle accordingly.
