"Zp-Axis home h/w fault" on an ACQUITY FTN - WKB100060

SYMPTOMS

• "Zp-Axis home h/w fault" error message
• Resetting the sample manager does not resolve the issue
• Plate configuration did not change

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS Bio
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle PLUS (SM-FTN PLUS)
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN)
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Bio

CAUSE

Faulty Needle Carriage

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Power off system.

2. Remove Y-Carriage (Needle carriage), replace with new one (P/N:700005225).

3. Power on the FTN.

4. Perform Z-Axis calibration.

5. Characterize the needle seal.

6. Perform R-Axis calibration.
