waters_connect INTACT Mass "internal server error 500: at Intact Mass App 1.1" due to bad modifier - WKB244618

SYMPTOMS

• Cannot create an INTACT Mass analysis
• Cannot select an INTACT Mass method
• Either of these actions causes an error message to appear: "internal server error 500: at Intact Mass App 1.1"

ENVIRONMENT

• waters_connect with UNIFI 3.0.0
• INTACT Mass 1.1.1 or 1.1.0

CAUSE

Problem with one of the custom amino acid modifiers in the Scientific Library. Amino Acid side chain modifier was created with no amino acids selected in the Applies to column.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Do one of the following:

• Delete the problem amino acid modifier from the scientific library.

• Edit the amino acid modifier to assign the amino acids to which this modification should apply, and save the modification.

• Change the site type from "Side Chain" to "Adduct", and save the modification.

Then, restart the INTACT Mass app.

Note, this is specific to modifiers where site type = side chain, not site type = adduct.
