How to set up a BioAccord PC to connect to a Sartorius PC for a Bioprocess system - WKB234831

Article number: 234831

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

For a bioprocess system using INTACT Mass 1.3, the following needs to be completed:
If INTACT Mass 1.4 is being used please follow waters_connect Intact Mass Installation Guide (715008019)

  • Set up a network connection (customer domain or adhoc network)
  • Create a folder C:\Ambr\DataInterface and the relevant subfolders on both the BioAccord and Ambr PC
  • The DataInterface folder on the Ambr PC is then shared (including sub folders)
  • Map the DataInterface folder to the BioAccord PC

N.B. Set permissions to allow the BioAccord PC user to have full control of the shared folder on the Ambr PC.

This process must be owned by the customer's IT group and not by the Waters FSE.

ENVIRONMENT

  • BioAccord
  • Bioprocess
  • Sartorius
  • AMBR system
  • INTACT Mass v1.3

PROCEDURE

The following should be done by the IT department or the customer.

  1. Decide what will be used to transfer .csv files between the BioAccord Computer and the Sartorius Ambr Computer:

    1. thumb drive

    2. corporate domain network

    3. adhoc network

For the network options (b and c)

  1.  If not already present on the Ambr PC, create C:\Ambr\DataInterface\In and C:\Ambr\DataInterface\Out folders.

  2. Create a user that has access to the DataInterface and sub folders on the Ambr computer from the BioAccord PC. Give this designated user full control. For more instructions see the water_connect INTACT Mass Installation guide 715008019 Version 02.

  3. Your service rep will proceed with installation of the INTACT Mass software. The designated user will then need to be setup in the INTACT Mass File Service to gain INTACT Mass software access to Ambr\DataInterface folder, see the water_connect INTACT Mass Installation guide 715008019 Version 02.

  4. Supply the FSE with the UNC path for the Ambr\DataInterface folder to complete the network setup.

The remainder will be set up by the Sartorius Service Rep on the Ambr PC and by Waters Field Service on the BioAccord PC (Waters service employees ONLY see wkb252864)

For the thumb drive option

On the thumb drive create thumb drive:\Ambr\DataInterface\In and thumb drive:\Ambr\DataInterface\Out folders
On the Sartorius Ambr PC, if not already present, create C:\Ambr\DataInterface\In and C:\Ambr\DataInterface\Out folders.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Once the share is created, one can optionally confirm that the share has the correct permissions.

Using Powershell type in the following commands. Note: Do not type the double quotes.

a. Type "Get-ChildItem -Path '\\server\share' -Force -Recurse" -  This will determine if the read property is working correctly.

b. Type "New-Item -Path '\\server\share\check.txt' -ItemType File" - This will determine if the create property is working correctly.
