With UNIFI, ACQUITY FTN does not draw up sample before injecting - WKB50132

SYMPTOMS

• No sample is drawn up from the vial during the injection cycle
• Position of the needle looks to be off—it does not go to the top of the correct vial position
• On starting an acquisition, system gets ready, injection process starts, and the needle moves to the correct vial position; the arm lowers to touch the vial and then bounces back up immediately without doing anything; it then moves back to needle seal and injection starts without drawing sample

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Open the analysis method and configure a different (incorrect) well plate.
2. Save the analysis method and acquire a run.
3. As expected, this results in an error.
4. Reset the FTN.
5. Configure the analysis method for the correct well plate.
6. Save the analysis method and acquire.
