Cannot delete folder in waters_connect - WKB261765

SYMPTOMS

• Error message "Cannot delete folder" when trying to delete a folder in waters_connect
  

ENVIRONMENT

• waters_connect with UNIFI 3.0

CAUSE

An item in the folder is locked for editing.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Check all user accounts for work in progress and save and finish work in progress.
   Log in as an administrator, open UNIFI, go to the My Work tab, and select the all users button.
   
2. Inspect user accounts for pending signatures.
3. Open Explorer, select all items in a folder, right-click and select "Remove edit lock", and then delete the folder.
   
4. If the folder still cannot be deleted, select the items in the folder, delete them, and skip the locked items to identify them for further investigation.
    

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This workflow does not work for sessions from web-based waters_connect applications such as MS-Quan or  LC-MS Toolkit.
Check wkb278482 if required.
 
If this does not work, contact GSS to remove the locks via sql edits.
