Cannot reset device in UNIFI - WKB254815

SYMPTOMS
- MS summary panel shows error that reads "Communication with the instrument control system has failed, waiting for communication to be re-established. If unresolved after 10 minutes, turn Xevo G2-XS QTof off and on or contact an engineer"; see example image:
- Instrument System summary panel shows Status of System Error and Startup Error with a current analysis listed
- Reset Device option for the workstation is dimmed (unavailable) under Device Management
- Unable to take Instrument system offline in Device Management
ENVIRONMENT
- waters_connect 1.9.13
- Xevo G2-XS
CAUSE
Lost communication
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Exit out of the software.
- Reboot the workstation.
- Wait five minutes before launching waters_connect/UNIFI.
- Log in to waters_connect/UNIFI.
- In UNIFI, launch Administration.
- Go to the Device Management option.
- Go to the Instrument Systems tab and change the status from Online to Offline.
- Go to the Workstation tab.
- Select the workstation computer and right-click to bring up the menu to select Reset Device.
- When Reset Device is complete, ensure that the workstation status reads "Online".
- Go back to the Instrument Systems tab and change the status from Offline to Online.
- Go back to the Instrument Console and check for control.
