SYMPTOMS

• No communication with Xevo G2-XS in UNIFI
• Error message "Instrument EPC failure"
• Instrument EPC is currently in an indeterminate status

ENVIRONMENT

• UNIFI Workstation
• UNIFI Network
• waters_connect
• Xevo G2-XS
• Xevo G2-XS QTof

CAUSE

Communication failure with EPC

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Reboot only the EPC, rather than a full electronic reboot.
2. If EPC reboot does not resolve the issue, perform electronics reboot. 
3. Verify communication. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The EPC can be rebooted using a piece of PEEK tubing to depress the small microswitch behind the sliding cover.
