MS status in UNIFI instrument console shows as 'stopping' - WKB122803

SYMPTOMS

• MS status in Console shows as 'stopping'
• Manual Tuning page shows as 'Stopping' and all options in that pull down are greyed out
• MS Operate status can be changed
• When trying to take system offline see message that there are items in the queue

ENVIRONMENT

• UNIFI Workstation
• Xevo G2-XS

CAUSE

Item paused in queue. Potentially a communication issue also

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. View the System Monitor section and check for any items in the Sample List Queue pane.
2. If a sample list is paused it might be appropriate to go into the analysis and stop it from there.
3. Confirm the queue is now clear.
4. Go to the Instrument Systems section of UNIFI Administration / Device Management and take the system offline
5. Go to the Workstation section of Device Management; right click on the entry in the top pane and choose Reset device.
6. Once the workstation comes back online, bring the system back online also
7. Re-open the console and check for communications. If 'EPC failure' is seen it will be necessary to restart the instrument electronics
8. Ensure MS can be put into operate and that the status can be changed to Acquiring or Stop in the Manual Tuning window
9. In the console change the system Status to ready by choosing 'Startup to Ready'
