Alternative IP addresses are not assigned in Waters DHCP server configuration - WKB88721

SYMPTOMS

• Customer Domain Network is running at 192.168.15.XX
• Alternative IP addresses for LC and MS should be used to avoid conflicts
• IP address of Instrument LAN card manually changed to 172.16.0.1 before software (MassLynx/UNIFI/Empower) was installed
• Modules initialized without errors
• No modules are visible in Waters DHCP Server configuration

ENVIRONMENT

• UNIFI
• Empower
• MassLynx

CAUSE

• IP address of instrument LAN Card was changed by hand before software was installed
• Configuration guide for LAN card was not done inside the Waters DHCP Configuration Server

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Open Waters DHCP Server Configuration
   
2. Go to Server-> "Configuration Wizard..."
   
3. On the "Select Network Connection" page, click on the appropriate network connection for the instrument and then click "Next"

4. Change the IP address of the Instrument LAN to the alternate.
   
   
5. Reboot the PC
6. When the reboot finishes, start the modules
