Error "Backup of the keystore failed" appears in the database backup logs in WDM - WKB252902

SYMPTOMS

• The following messages appear in the backup logs in WDM:
  • copy Drive:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\19.6.0\ADMIN\dbname\WALLET\tde\\ewallet.p12 Drive:\ORA_BKP\dbname\servicename\BACKUPSET\DATE_TIME\ewallet.p12 /Y 
    copy Drive:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\19.6.0\ADMIN\dbname\WALLET\tde\\cwallet.sso Drive:\ORA_BKP\dbname\servicename\BACKUPSET\DATE_TIME\cwallet.sso /Y 
    Backup of the keystore failed
• The backups are not completed

ENVIRONMENT

• WDM 4.x
• Oracle 19c
• NuGenesis
• Empower

CAUSE

The WATOracle or oraclejobs user does not have permission on the wallet files.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Grant WATOracle or oraclejobs (as appropriate to the WDM version) full rights on the ewallet.p12 and cwallet.sso files.
2. Grant the user full rights on the parent folder for the backupsets.
3. Rerun the backup job (if using the run_it_now schedule) or wait for the next scheduled backup to complete.
