How to disable the firewall in Windows OS for Instrument LAN only - WKB18188

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Disable the firewall in Windows OS for the Instrument LAN only. This is required for use of Waters instruments and still allows for the screening of network connections.  

ENVIRONMENT

• Windows OS
• Waters systems

PROCEDURE

1. In the Windows search bar type "Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security" and click on program. Alternative type "wf.msc" in the command prompt.
2. Select Properties along the right hand side
3. Under the Domain Profile tab > State > Protected network connections select Customize

7. Deselect the Instrument LAN, or whatever network port the instrument is using and Select OK

8. Repeat Step 6-7 for Private and Public profiles.
