SYMPTOMS

  • The following message appears in the NuGenesis Archive Agent activity logs:
    • Message........: DATE TIME: GetFSInfofromOcx 10048 Err Desc - TRANSPORT ERROR GETTING VOLUME INFORMATION. Error Category: 1  System Code (121) - The semaphore timeout period has expired.

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 9 SDMS
  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS

CAUSE

Semaphore timeout is caused by Server Message Block (SMBv1) being disabled on Windows 2016 Server.

SMBv1 is disabled with the standard install of Windows 2016 Server.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Enable SMBv1 on the Windows server.
