ANSWER
When you create Oracle database users in NuGenesis LMS SDMS Administrator or Help Desk, they are assigned to the NGPROFILE profile, which enforces the following password rules:
- Expires after 90 days
- Can never be reused
- Must be correctly typed within three attempts or the account is locked until an administrator or help desk operator unlocks it
- Must not be the same as the user account name
- Must contain at least six characters
- Must contain at least one numeric character
- Cannot be the name of a day
- Cannot be the name of a month
- Must not be in the list of obvious words
The password expiration time, password reuse policy, and number of logon attempts can be changed through modifications to the Oracle profile NGPROFILE. Changes to the other password rules require changes to the PL/SQL function "nugenesis_verify_function" or a custom verification function. Request the assistance of your Oracle DBA or Waters to modify password rules.
