Memory usage spikes for java.exe on a NuGenesis LMS server - WKB64836

SYMPTOMS

• A java.exe process running on a NuGenesis LMS server increases its memory usage over time, using more than 1.5 GB of memory, and reduces the available memory on the LMS server

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 LMS
• NuGenesis 8 LMS
• NuGenesis 8 ELN
• More than one LMS server is configured to connect to an LMS database for load-balancing or failover purposes

CAUSE

The NuGenesis LMS Job Manager and Scheduler services are started on more than one LMS server.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Run the NuGenesis LMS Job Manager and Scheduler services on only one LMS server in the cluster. The two services should be stopped and set to Disabled on all other LMS servers in the cluster.
