How to remove unneeded notifications from the NuGenesis LMS Inbox - WKB56694

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Remove excess entries from the NuGenesis LMS Inbox.

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 9 LMS
  • NuGenesis 8 LMS

PROCEDURE

  1. Enable the "Delete old notification records" background job in the LMS system configuration. This job deletes notifications that are older than X days, as long as the notifications are marked as read.
  2. Ensure that any LMSbackground  jobs that send notifications run on a schedule of, at most, once per day.
  3. To remove entries through the LMS client, click the LMS main menu > My Work > Inbox, press Select All, and delete (or mark them as read so they will be removed by the background job).
  4. To remove notifications manually via SQL scripts, contact Waters technical support for assistance.
