Error ORA-01461 occurs when saving some NuGenesis LMS documents or importing document templates - WKB310083

SYMPTOMS

• The following error message appears when saving some NuGenesis LMS documents:
  • Original exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 LMS
• Chinese- or Japanese-language installation

CAUSE

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Download the 21c ojdbc11.jar file from Oracle:
   • Japanese: JDBC and UCP Downloads page | Oracle 日本
   • Chinese: JDBC and UCP Downloads page | Oracle 中国
2. Copy the ojdbc11.jar file to the LMS Server.
3. Stop the "NuGenesis LMS Server" service.
4. Rename Drive:\WatersLMSServer\Wildfly\modules\system\layers\base\waters\lms\oracle\main\ojdbc11.jar to ojdbc11.old.
5. Copy the new ojdbc11.jar to the folder in step 4.
6. Restart the "NuGenesis LMS Server" service.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The new ojdbc11.jar will fail the IQ check in the LMS Server Auto IQ.
