Error ORA-01461 occurs when saving some NuGenesis LMS documents or importing document templates - WKB310083

SYMPTOMS

• The following error message appears when saving some NuGenesis LMS documents:
  • original exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 LMS
• Chinese- or Japanese-language installation

CAUSE

Unknown.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Download the 21c ojdbc11.jar file from Oracle:
   • Japanese: JDBC and UCP Downloads page | Oracle 日本
   • Chinese: JDBC and UCP Downloads page | Oracle 中国
2. Copy the ojdbc11.jar file to the LMS Server
3. Stop the "NuGenesis LMS Server" service
4. Rename Drive:\WatersLMSServer\Wildfly\modules\system\layers\base\waters\lms\oracle\main\ojdbc11.jar to ojdbc11.old
5. Copy the new ojdbc11.jar to the folder in step 4
6. Restart the "NuGenesis LMS Server" service

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The new ojdbc11.jar will fail the IQ check in the LMS Server Auto IQ.
