Archiving or restoring a large number of files or files larger than 2 GB to/from NuGenesis SDMS fails when using FTPS - WKB26311

SYMPTOMS
- When doing File Capture to a Managed Storage enabled project and the files are larger than 2 GB, the files become stuck in TE_TEMP when the Managed Storage Location is using FTPS
- The following error messages appear in the .mark_bad files in TE_TEMP:
- ErrorString1=14419:1:3549:[NG14419] Managed Store Error : Error while reading file ftp://servername:990/DC30B94E-9C0E-4...K1/NG3CT5CN1.1 for <ngid=3><Content Type=5> <ContentNumber=1> NONE
- ErrorString8=14419:1:3511:[NG14419] Managed Store Error : Error while creating directory <69F844F1-65DE-4eb6-98D9-12F13874C4B9/B1/M1/K1> for <file=ftp://servername:1126...61CT10002CN0.1> NONE
- ErrorString7=14529:1:3406:[NG14570] Unknown database error. Please report this to your support or NuGenesis Technologies support.
- The following error messages appear in the .mark_bad files in TE_TEMP:
- Restoring large numbers of files or files larger than 2 GB fails when the Managed Storage Location is using FTPS
- The following error messages appear when restoring files:
- Failed to extract files(s) to folder c:\Program Files(x86)\NuGenesis8.0\Temp. Please ensure that there is sufficient disk space for files. If there is sufficient disk space please try again as the network\DB connection may have been lost.
- Unable to Create Activity Project Entry! Please see Log File for Restore Summary
- The following error messages appear when restoring files:
ENVIRONMENT
- NuGenesis 8 SDMS SR1
- NuGenesis 8 SDMS FR1
CAUSE
A software defect
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Software change request (SCR) #18225 was filed for this issue.
- This issue was fixed in NuGenesis 8 SR2 and NuGenesis 9
- Apply the hotfix:
- Download the updated file (NG80MSLM.dll) to the file capture server(s) and to all machines where the NuGenesis Transfer App is installed.
- Stop the NuGenesis RPC 8.0 service and all NuGenesis programs.
- For Citrix servers, log off all other user sessions, to ensure that any SDMS programs they may have running are closed.
- Rename the file C:\Windows\syswow64\NG80MSLM.dll to NG80MSLM.sr1 or NG80MSLM.fr1, as appropriate.
- Copy the hotfixed NG80MSLM.dll into C:\Windows\syswow64.
- Restart the NuGenesis RPC 8.0 service.
