An excessive number of files in the NuGenesis SDMS RPC Users Temp folder eventually fills the drive - WKB251574

Article number: 251574

SYMPTOMS

  • Excessive number of files in the NuGenesis SDMS RPC Users Temp folder eventually fills the drive

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS
  • NuGenesis 9 SDMS

CAUSE

This issue is likely due to the NuGenesis RPC Service not deleting from the Temp folder the background restored files created by the Data Management module.

Data Management log files might contain errors about the drive being out of disk space.

2023-01-09 11:31:29 Error <15233> in (657250:_FUNC001.DAT) : [NG15233] Out of disk space.
2023-01-09 11:31:29 Error <14420> in (657252:_FUNC001.DAT) : [NG14420] Operating System Error : Error occurred while writing to D:\RPCTemp\NG80TMPDIR3376_20221220_154849254\NGEFF62D3BAA-0B87-4be2-971C-370162BEAF9Fe39b file for <ngid=657252> <Content Type=5> <ContentNumber=20 > <System ErrorNo=112> failed with error 112: There is not enough space on the disk.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Restarting the NuGenesis RPC Service will remove these temporary files and the system will function normally again. DMM log files should be monitored to ensure that Data Management is successfully deleting from their source locations the files archived by each data adapter.
