  • WSM 2.x

ANSWER

  • IDLE: the WSM agent service is running and reporting to the WSM web service, but the monitored node is idle; that is, the WSM Agents do not find anything in the logs to match the keywords as specified in the Keyword Settings page
  • ACTIVE: the WSM agent service is running and reporting to the WSM web service.  The agent's reports indicate that the monitored system is running normally and not reporting errors or warnings.  This state is not applicable to WSM Agents for NuGenesis LMS
  • WARNING: the WSM agent saw warning messages, set in the Keyword Settings page, in the most recent log file from the monitored system
  • ERROR: the agent saw error messages, set in the Keyword Settings page, in the most recent log file from the monitored system
  • FATAL: the agent encountered an error that prevented it from checking the log files on the monitored system
  • LATE: the time since the agent's last report exceeds the "Expected Node Ping" setting in the WSM system settings (default: 1 hour), therefore the agent is late in reporting it's status.  The WSM agent service on the monitored system may be stopped, or offline, or powered off.
