Empower projects are not deleted by NuGenesis SDMS Data Management - WKB20320

SYMPTOMS

• One or more Empower projects have been archived by SDMS and are due for deletion by the Data Management module
• The projects are not deleted
• Error messages are recorded in the Data Management module
  • Examples: Cannot open Service Control Manager on computer 'hostname'. This operation might require other privileges.: for [EmpowerServer.ProjectName] Remote machine: [hostname] in error handler

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• Data Adapters Release 2 or later
• Empower Remote adapter installed on an Empower 3 machine

CAUSE

The logon account for the service "Waters EmpowerDA DataExchange Service DM" does not have administrator rights on the machine.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Grant the logon account for the service administrator rights on the machine.
2. Restart the service.
