ANSWER

Document templates: The number of signatures required to approve document templates is configurable within each template. To view or edit the template signature list, first open the template in the LMS client, and click the Template menu > Signature list. If the template is modifiable, the list will be editable; otherwise, the list will be read-only. There is no order to the signature list. Any of the users in the list can sign the template in any order, but all of them must sign before the template is approved.

Section templates: LMS does not have any signature workflow available for section templates. All users who have Read & Write or Undelete permission on section templates can approve section templates.

Document sections: The number of signatures required to approve document sections is defined by the document's department settings, or the document's team settings if it is assigned to an LMS team. The department/team setting "Section Release" defines the steps needed to approve document sections. The options are: automatically (released when the section is edited and closed), manually, or with a signature. The department/team setting "Force section sign" defines whether the document sections must be signed before the document signature workflow can start. If "Yes", then all document sections must be signed; if "No", then the document sections do not need to be signed. If Section Release is set to "as signature" and Force Section Sign is Yes, then sections need two signatures in order to become approved.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Document templates: Signatures on document templates can be disabled with a system setting. Go to the system configuration in order to check, or change, this system setting: LMS Main Menu > Administration page > System Configuration button > System > Template.

Document sections: LMS documents will follow the department or team signature workflow settings as they were at the time of the document's creation. Any changes made to a department or team's signature workflow settings will not apply to existing documents; the changes will apply only to those documents created after the change. It is therefore possible to have LMS documents that do not follow the department or team settings, despite all indications to the contrary.
