Error "Conversion not supported for this language selection!" when archiving Empower 3 data in NuGenesis with JCAMP conversion - WKB15701

SYMPTOMS

• The following message appears in the NuGenesis Archive Agent log file:
  • "Conversion not supported for this language selection! The results will not be converted. ","Waters.SDMS.WindowsService ","clsEmp2PreProc ","GetProjKeys ","0 ",""
• Empower projects are archived into SDMS, but without the JCAMP files

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• Data Adapters Release 3 or later
• Empower 3
• At least one active template line attempts to archive Empower 3 data with the JCAMP conversion option

CAUSE

The template line's Language setting is <N/A>, or anything other than English.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Edit the archive template line and set its Language to English.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The error message does not state the archive template line's language selection; however, the AA log file includes a copy of the full template, so this information can be found in an AA log file. Look for the text "Full template:" near the end of the file. This line contains the full text of the archive template. Copy the line into a new file and replace \n with newlines. Each template line begins with "ARCHIVE REQUEST=X".  Look through the file until you find the lines relevant to the Empower project capture template line. The line "CSKEYLANGUAGE" has the language selection for the template line.
