What is the difference between "Execute Command" and "Deactivate Command" in NuGenesis archive templates? - WKB15129

Article number: 15129

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS

ANSWER

Both options stop archival of that template line. A cleared execute command and a deactivate command stop the template line from running.

Clearing the "Execute Command" check box stops the template from running but still transfers the template line to the Archive Agent's temporary files.
Setting the "Deactivate Command" stops the template from running and stops the transfer of the template line to the Archive Agent's temporary files.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Customers may have a very large template with a lot of lines.

The Archive Agent's temporary file stores the run time of the template lines and when the template lines are scheduled to run again.

Deactivating a template line limits the amount of information being transferred to the temp files.
