Article number: 97682

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Create a printed report from TargetLynx that includes only the chromatograms for the compounds in the samples.

ENVIRONMENT

  • MassLynx 4.1
  • MassLynx 4.2
  • TargetLynx
  • TargetLynx XS

PROCEDURE

  1. Open a representative TargetLynx results (*.QLD) file in the TargetLynx Browser.
  2. Go to File > Report Format.
  3. Check each tab in the Report Format and Disable all but the Samples Report.
  4. On the Samples Report tab, set the following:
    • Select the appropriate orientation
    • Select Sample per page and Stack Confirmatory ions in Graph
    • Do not select Include Summary
    • Set the Graph Size appropriately, using Print Preview to observe size changes
  5. Click the Chromatogram Properties button.
  6. Set the appropriate Style, Annotation, and Display range settings (set Normalize Data to Baseline as Zero for MS data and lowest point for PDA data).
  7. Click the Heading Order button.
  8. Specify fields that are needed in the report header. Selecting Each heading on a new line is recommended for easier review.
  9. Chromatograms, by default, will print in the order of the Compound list in the TargetLynx method. If another order is needed, select the Selected box next to the Compound button, and then click the Compound button.
  10. Set the print order of the compounds in the left-hand panel.
    • Note: If Selected Compounds is used, the report format will only be usable for data processed for this list of compounds, and the Layout file will need to be saved accordingly.
    • If Selected Compounds is not used, the report format will be applicable for data processed with any TargetLynx method.
  11. Close the Report Format window.
  12. Use File > Print preview to verify that the report meets the necessary requirements. (Make changes where appropriate.)
  13. Go to File > Save Layout As to save the Report Format as part of the layout file.
