"Invalid column number for alignment" error occurs when printing or previewing a TargetLynx report - WKB9616

SYMPTOMS

• "Invalid column number for alignment" error occurs when printing or previewing a report.

• TargetLynx freezes. Printing is not possible and the application process has to be stopped in Task Manager. 

• The problem is seen randomly, in different sample batches.

• QuanLynx

CAUSE

This is a software bug - it's been around for years but it is only rarely reported and it's difficult to reproduce. 

Development: We have looked into this and there is a problem with the underlying Microsoft grid control that we are using.  There is no easy way to fix this besides re-writing our table control using a different grid control. Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to write a new table control.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Slightly change the widths of the columns to be printed

or

Change the printing orientation to Landscape.

or

Use a different QuanLynx Layout (.qlt) file
