How to set the password expiration date in MassLynx security - WKB91565

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Set the password expiration date for a user account in MassLynx security.

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx security
• MassLynx security workstation
• Windows 7

PROCEDURE

For local accounts:

1. Select the Start button. Type "Edit group policy" or "gpedit.msc" in the search field. The computer configuration window appears.
2. Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Account Policies > Password Policy > "Maximum password age"
3. Change the expiration date of the password. 

For domain accounts, password policy (e.g., expiration date, complexity, and number of incorrect logins allowed) is set on the domain controller and configured by customer IT.
