In MassLynx, the Inlet Method Editor window does not open but icon seen in taskbar - WKB8831

SYMPTOMS

• After clicking on the Inlet Method Editor icon, no Inlet Method Editor window appears
• In the task bar, there is a small thumbnail of the Inlet Method Editor window
• Restarting the software and the computer does not resolve the issue
• Changing MassLynx projects does not solve the problem

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx 4.1
• Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit

CAUSE

The Inlet Method Editor window is off-screen.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Hover the mouse on the Windows task bar and select for the minimized MassLynx windows.
2. Move the mouse over the thumbnail image of the Inlet Method Editor window.
3. Right-click to bring up the Windows pop-up menu (it will show Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, and Close as options).
4. Pick the Move option.
5. Hit an arrow key on the keyboard (this will lock the mouse to that window so you can drag it around).
6. Use the mouse to move the window so you can see it.
7. Adjust to the desired location and left-click to drop the window into place.
8. Alternatively click on the Inlet Editor icon and then press the Alt + Space shortcut keys together. This selects the window.
9. Type M to choose Move from the window menu
10. Use the left, right, up and down arrow keys to move the window into the current view.
