SYMPTOMS

• No concentrations of analytes or internal standards are calculated in TargetLynx
• "Standards" can be found and have concentrations calculated
• The calibration curve is created
• Peaks for the compounds are present in the MassLynx chromatogram traces
• Peaks for the internal standard compounds are not present in the chromatogram traces

ENVIRONMENT

CAUSE

Compounds are set to use Internal (relative - use internal standards), and there are no corresponding internal standard peaks found in the data traces.

Internal Standard compounds are set to External (absolute - no Internal Standard).

FIX or WORKAROUND

• Assess sample preparation, or determine why no internal standard should be present in those samples.
• Edit the processing method to use External (absolute - no internal standards) instead of Internal (relative - use internal standards).
• For the missing Internal Standard, the Analysis Response Type in Compound Properties must be set to Internal rather than External.
