Multiple errors in MassLynx including skipping samples and slow opening files - WKB8307

SYMPTOMS

• MassLynx sometimes does not inject all the samples in the sample list
• Slow to open data files or display chromatograms
• Display of ACQUITY modules status (such as "Injecting" or Priming") in MS console missing
• Source and system settings defaulting themselves automatically even though parameters were saved on PC and EPC

ENVIRONMENT

• MassLynx

CAUSE

Too many data files in one project, slowing down the system.

 C: Drive full.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Back up all data.
2. Create a new project regularly so the number of files in a single project stays at a manageable level.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Having too many data files in one project causes MassLynx to perform erratically.

For good practice, back up data and moved off the PC at regular intervals.

If MassLynx functions are not working as expected after performing the above, back up all data from the PC to an available server (ask customer's data specialist for relevant authorizations), re-image the host PC, and reinstall MassLynx with the suitable SCN.
