Problems exporting large data using Databridge - WKB79703

Article number: 79703

SYMPTOMS

  • Databridge reproducibly fails to export anything from MassLynx .raw files if the individual .dat files within the .raw folder are larger than 2GB.

    • This occurs either using the databridge standalone tool in C:/MassLynx/ or when using the dbridge process to export data from the MassLynx sample list

  • Can export CDF files  if the individual .dat files within the.raw folder are smaller than 2GB using Databridge.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Databridge
  • MassLynx

CAUSE

There is a limit to the size of MassLynx raw data files that Databridge can export to netCDF format.

FIX or WORKAROUND

It is possible to partially work around this in MassLynx desktop processing SCNs from SCN 901 onward. In the newer SCNs netCDF format, you can directly export files from the Chromatogram window using File > Export to net CDF.  However, unlike Databridge, this will not simultaneously export all the functions in the raw folder as separate CDF files. Instead, you must open each function individually in the chromatogram window and manually export each function separately.

NOTE: CDF files exported from MassLynx desktop processing as described above are much smaller than those exported using Databridge.
